I just wanted to write to tell you that "Eddie Johnson's Jumpshot & Offensive Skills" DVD is, by far, the best video/DVD I have seen when it comes to helping young players understand the fundamentals of shooting.
Eddie Johnson breaks down the shooting process into understandable segments, giving points on what to do at each step. In addition, he outlines drills and techniques to improve your jump shot. The best point of this DVD is that Eddie Johnson comes from the point of view of a player, giving the student tips on how to get open and take that winning shot. Eddie Johnson is a natural teacher.
Thanks for such a quality product. - Milton Combs
So far, the video has helped my game - I'm 57 but play twice a week. Especially getting open. More importantly, it has given me clarity as an off season high school coach and helping my varsity son. I will have him watch the video soon. Absolutely a great video! Clear and convincing! - Paul Shapiro
I thoroughly enjoyed your DVD and have already implemented some of your drills. I have shared your story with my teams. I especially liked the way you touched on the importance of preparation, warming up by shooting in close when you first get to the gym and slowly moving away from the basket until you find your range. Your way of explaining is easy to understand and I was able to take it right to practice and use them with my players. Thanks for putting out a quality instructional DVD that was fun to watch. - Dan Placial / Ojai Valley Sharks Basketball Association
My son really liked the way the video went step by step. He ended up having a "Eddie Johnson Shooting Clinic Workshop" with his friends in our basement on the big screen. It was a big help coming from a pro and not his father. - Frank Bramson
My son and daughter enjoyed the video and have been using the techniques. Although we have had the video for a short period of time, I have seen a marked improvement in their shooting form and the video reinforces many of the same drills and techniques I have been teaching them. Although your career came before their day, the game footage helps give you additional credibility with younger children. I plan on using the video with my AAU team.
Thanks! - Michael
My son is 5 and has been playing organized basketball at the YMCA since he was 3. While we have always stressed fundamentals, its very helpful to have a video presentation to back up what I have been telling him. Seeing the skills on TV helps reinforce the on-court learning. Additionally, your ability to so clearly communicate the importance of the basics has fixed the fundamentals in his mind. I now notice him "coaching" the other boys in the mechanics you describe.
All the best for a successful future. I look forward to your next offering. - Carl
The DVD really put things in perspective. The hand position and follow through he thought he was doing was corrected through the visualization. Also, the free throw section reinforced that and the offensive skills were beneficial in learning to create space for the shot.
He has begun to recognize what moves someone will try against him and that was a bonus. Shots created off of forced turnovers, may be something to add to the second one. Good job. - Ron LaSita, Cave Creek, AZ
